Sharran Stewart

Oodnadatta | Yankunytjatjara

Born in Oodnadatta, Sharran belongs to the Yankunytjatjara community of the APY Lands. One of seven siblings, she now lives in Adelaide, close to her daughters and grandchildren. Sharran began painting in 2015, taught by her older brother, who often painted kangaroo and emu themes. While he inspired her, Sharran developed her own style, focusing on water and landscapes. She favours earthy tones and applies paint using a mix of techniques, working with both brush and bottle.
